The Masonic Charitable foundation (MCF) has made a grant of £45,000 over 3 years, to NOAH Enterprise (New Opportunities and Horizons) to fund a ‘Welfare Support Worker’. http://www.noahenterprise.org/
The Welfare Support Worker assesses clients referred to the charity and establishes positive working relationships with clients and provides support plans for each individual. The support plans can include finding accommodation, money management, addiction issues, physical and mental health needs. Clients can also be referred to the NOAH Academy which provides work skills training, CV writing, Interview Skills or to the Social Enterprise – a series of shops selling different items such as toys, books and clothes for training and/or work experience.
This new Welfare Support Worker funded by us will support around 200 clients a year. NOAH is a Luton based charity offering Hope and Support to people struggling against homelessness and exclusion.
There were 48 different charities, both local and national, receiving individual sums varying from £200 to £5,000 from 34 lodges, 2 chapters and 1 Rose Croix Chapter; all Lodges and Chapters being based in the Province of Bedfordshire.
